What are the expectations for the Sales Manager role?
As a Sales Manager, your primary focus will be on contract negotiations. You excel in strategically approaching these discussions to secure mutually beneficial terms. Given the steady stream of inquiries and an established network, your task will be to cultivate enduring, high-quality relationships. The organization aims to generate the majority of inquiries from existing clients, although you are encouraged to identify and capitalize on market opportunities. As a Sales Manager, you will be closely involved in the entire process, from the initial contract to the final delivery. This involvement provides you with a comprehensive view of internal operations and allows you to make well-informed assessments of the implications of committing to an inquiry. Moreover, as the company's clientele spans the globe, you can expect to be on the road approximately two weeks per month.
Here is a selection of your responsibilities as a Sales Manager:
- Foster long-term relationships with (potential) clients to achieve short- and long-term commercial objectives.
- Act as the primary contact for clients from the initial sales lead to order placement.
- Engage in contract negotiations with customers while maintaining awareness of the organization's budgetary, technical, and contractual capabilities.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks throughout the sales process by staying abreast of technical, operational, and supply chain developments.
- Facilitate the transition from sales to operations once the contract is finalized and remain engaged throughout the entire process.
You are a proactive and driven professional with a strong commercial mindset. You thrive in challenging, long-term contract negotiations and possess the ability to translate your insights into a coherent sales strategy. Additionally, you are skilled at identifying market opportunities. Furthermore, your profile should reflect the following:
- A background in mechanical engineering and experience in selling technical products or services, as this role requires a solid grasp of both the technical aspects of lifting solutions and customer needs.
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken, is essential. Knowledge of Dutch would be a valuable asset.
You will join a flat organization that values craftsmanship and initiative. Furthermore, you will be offered an independent job with a lot of responsibility and freedom to make decisions. The working language is Dutch, and the work environment is characterized by collegiality and informality. Additionally, the contract includes:
- A salary indication around €6000 euros per month.
- 27 vacation days and 13 ADV (Additional Days Off) days.
- A direct contract with the organization for a duration of 1 year, with the possibility of a permanent position.
- A good pension plan.
- Travel expense reimbursement.
- The possibility to work from home one day per week.
And, of course, the enjoyable Friday afternoon drinks and regular outings (organized by the staff association) are also part of the package!
